TV interview about Josef Ganz and ‘Die wahre Geschichte des VW Käfers’

On Monday, 2 May 2011, at 22:30 CET the German TV program Kulturjournal of the NDR will air an interview with me about Josef Ganz and the new German translation of my book, entitled ‘Die wahre Geschichte des VW Käfers – Wie die Nazis Josef Ganz die VW-Patente stahlen‘. The interview was filmed last February at the transport museum Verkehrshaus der Schweiz in Luzern, Switzerland. The museum owns a beautiful original restored 1947 Rapid ‘Swiss Volkswagen’ designed by Josef Ganz. When I visited the museum in 2005 the Rapid was on a small display in the back of the museum. To my pleasant surprise since the recent renovation of the museum the Rapid has been put on permanent display in the ‘museum-on-demand’ display. This is a large wall literally filled with classic cars. Visitors can vote for which car they want to see and an automatic pick-and-place robotic lift brings down the car for a presentation. The presentation of the Rapid included a voice-over about the story of Josef Ganz and the development of the Swiss Volkswagen complete with original photos displayed on a large screen. A seperate computer screen next to the ‘museum-on-demand’ showed an overview of the Rapid with beautiful photos.

Book presentation ‘Die wahre Geschichte des VW Käfers’
